WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR TIME IN THE ACADEMY?

GK: To improve my rugby overall and get a taste for a different style of rugby
CG: I was expecting the academy to be hard work and intense but I wasn’t too sure what I was in for

HAVE YOUR EXPECTACTIONS BEEN REACHED?

GK: YES! It’s been amazing, great coaching and drills as well as a great group of lads
CG: YES! UQRA was a lot better than what I was expecting, with it improving my game more than I could of though in just 8 weeks

FAVOURITE MEMORY FROM THE ACADEMY:

GK: Watching how the boys have developed and seeing Bailey try and do a chin up
CG: Making a great bunch of friends who day in day out drive everyone to be better. In the gym and on the field, there is a very strong team bond

FAVOURITE MEMORY OF AUSTRALIA:

GK: Travelling to Noosa and having beers on the beach watching the sun go down
CG: Chatting up some Aussie sheilas can’t go a miss with the accent but hitting surfers’ beach on the GC was an awesome day

HARDEST PERSON TO TRAIN AGAINST:

GK: Ed, his skill and power for a fly half is amazing
CG: Ed Gibson, strong in all areas of play and playing the same position I learnt a lot off him

WHAT YOU LIKED MOST ABOUT THE ACADEMY:

GK: Being in an environment with people wanting to do the same thing as you, with an equal love of the game
CG: the friendship built with team mates along with the intensity at training

FAVOURITE MEMORY ON THE FIELD:

GK: Watching Maccas NFL style celebrations after winning a point or a game during training
CG: Would easily be stepping Bailey to win a free beer. Seeing his face was priceless, even if he’s a front rower

FAVOURITE MEMORY OFF THE FIELD:

GK: Going out with the boys on the weekend
CG: The valley with a few of the academy boys was interesting especially when we ended up in a few of Australia’s’ less finer establishments
